Daniel is a police officer who has fallen from grace and lost his job after a violent outburst. The void in his life, where his sole occupation is to care for his demented father, is only filled when he messages Sara, a woman he has met online. When she suddenly stops replying, he decides to ignore an upcoming meeting with the local judicial authorities and travel to her birth place Juazeiro to look for her. The director and screen writer take their time to tell this story and the first touching moments emerge slowly, with ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ by Bonnie Tyler in the background. The last thirty minutes are painfully beautiful and highly erotic, thanks to the strong acting. The actors manage to convey a rare mix of emotions and the contrast between the tough city life and the gentleness of a small community. This film transports the viewer into a romantic story with an intense mix of light-heartedness and complexity. The sensitive soundtrack and impeccable photography make the trip even better.
