PINK SCREENS #5
Alternative GENDER FILM FESTIVAL
12 - 21 may 2006
Cinéma Nova

The fifth Pink Screens Festival invites you to a varied programme of queer activists, feminists, transsexuals, lesbians, gays and bisexuals in all forms. Questioning accepted ideas of a couple, sex, gender, male and female, with a reflection this year on art, on bodies, on borders and on ethnic minorities.

The focus on Art-Corps throws a glistening light on artists who use their body as a tool to question gender through dance, performance, music or painting. (Re)discover the surprising personalities of Klaus Nomi and Leigh Bowery, the Japanese schools for Drag Kings, the ecstatic dancers of DV8 and the transgressive Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore.

The festival is particularly glad to welcome Paul Vecchiali, an emblematic figure of 70s cinema and producer of subtle popular films, moving melodramas and unseen tales of love. He will be at the NOVA and at the Museum of Film to present some of his works as well as a selection of his favourites from other producers.

And as always, unseen fiction, frantic shorts, subversive documentaries. Surprise will brighten up the bar at the Nova during the ten days with a Gueulante and entertainment. The Pink Night will offer a concert by Berlin electro duo Rythm King And Her Friends. Come and celebrate our fifth party!
