Luisa and Renata have a dream : to leave their families, their provincial northeast Italian life ; and fly away to China. To get there they earn money as occasional sex workers, before trying to blackmail a rich man. But can there be dreams and projects in this corner of Italy, which is stuck in nationalism and xenophobia ? A promising first movie, which paints a “warts and all” portrait of a territory between city and countryside, in search of its identity.
