After several years in jail Francine struggles to confront life on the outside. Aone in a white trash, semi-urban and unfamiliar America, she struggles to bond with others, despite her affairs with boys and girls. She only seems to find comfort in the company of pets. Remarkably powerful, this movie is at times voyeur and tender towards this magnificent misfit character. Oscar winning Melissa Leo (Treme, Frozen River, The Fighter) here in one of her greatest performances.
