In a Mexican neighbourhood of Los Angeles, Mosquita, a model student, falls in love with her best friend Mari, a rebel and illegal immigrant. Faced with their parents’ expectations, economic reality and social codes on sexuality and desire, the two teenagers walk, not without fear, the fine line between love and friendship. This first film drawn from the director’s own experience describes the two girls first love and their passage to adulthood full of tenderness and sexual tension against the background of the American dream.
