Synopsis
Chela and Chiquita, fifty year-old bourgeois pensioners, have been living together for a long time. The former likes to stay at home, while the latter is much more of an extrovert. When Chiquita is accused of fraud and sent to prison, Chela finds herself alone and forced to take charge of things. Her life is shared between, on the one hand, her visits to the prison where she is finally confronted with real life and real people, and, on the other, the errands that she agrees to do to earn some money. This is how she meets the fiery Anguy to whom she is immediately attracted. A fine social and political critique of the director's country, this film won two awards at the last Berlinale, including the award for Best Actress going to Ana Brun as Chela.
