Synopsis
It's high summer, and Gus, who is just entering adolescence, finds the heatwave is not just affecting the family's farm animals and fields, but the adults around him too. His father is left in ruins by the drought. His mother introduces her new friend, the founder of a women's book club - a foreign element in the family sphere which will exacerbate certain feelings. Family ties are questioned. The storm finally arrives and with it, all hell will break loose... or will it?
