Meu Nome É Bagdá

Bagdá is a girl who does not behave as society would expect. She comes from a matriarchal family (like many Brazilian households in the suburbs), surrounded by older queer neighbours. Bagdá spends most of her time with her gang of skateboarders, but her life changes when she meets and starts dating cis-gender female skaters. Together they shuffle the cards and assert themselves in the public space. In a teen and suburban São Paulo, sorority, empowerment and feminist spring mark this second feature film from director Caru Alves de Souza.
