Des Garçons de Province, constructed in three parts, moves away from the usual images of the queer community in big cities to immerse us in the grey area of half urban, half rural areas, where the characters have to deal with dreams and boredom, with the here and now of the province and a fantasised elsewhere. One scene follows another: that of a touring company disrupting Youcef's orderly life for the duration of an evening performance, of a young man making fun of himself and his city, of an amateur photographer and his young model entering into an ambiguous relationship... The camera draws the portraits and spaces with great accuracy and realism, taking us on a journey through various floating moments, each with its own flavour.
