Synopsis
After discovering records from the UCLA gender clinic dating back to the 1950s, a group of trans actors confront the legacy of trans youth forced to choose between honesty and access to care. A hybrid film, rewarding and informative, with an intelligent and inventive storytelling method that draws on academic gender studies to explore the experiences of trans people past and present, when until very recently most trans people were still portrayed as aberrations and relegated in popular culture to the vulgar sensationalism of junk TV.
