Lia, a retired teacher, has vowed to find out what happened to her long-lost niece Tekla. When she hears from a neighbour, Achi, that Tekla may have left Georgia and is living in Turkey, they set off together for Istanbul and discover a magnificent city, full of possibilities. There they meet Evrim, a lawyer who fights for the rights of transgender people, who will put them on the trail of the missing woman.
Levan Akin's visually stunning film is an elegy on travel and a humanistic approach to transgender life as it moves back and forth between Georgia and Istanbul.
