*Heat* offers a distinctly Warholian reinterpretation of Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard, in which Joe Dalessandro plays a gigolo who turns up at a seedy motel, by a pool where the atmosphere is thick with sex. His aspirations for fame lead him into the bed of an aging star on the decline... A plunge into a seedy, decadent Hollywood, where people wander, believing they can escape their loneliness by taking pleasure in Joey’s body—the archetype of the objectified man.
