Synopsis
A major esthetic experience of Belgian cinema, Casta Diva is an exploration of the male form as seen in art and daily gestures. Through a sequence of sublime black and white scenes, De Kuyper establishes a relation with the filmed male-object that is both sensual and distant. With a magnficent sound track, enhanced through opera, this suprising choregraphy of a fragile virility is a superb prolongation of the works of Warhol and Morrissey (Flesh).
