Ioana Tamas + Laurence Rasti + Novella De Giorgi

{{Ioana Tamas}} is Romanian and creates ceramics in Eindhoven. She describes her oeuvre both conceptually and figuratively as a spiritual and physical human quest. 'Who am I?' presents portraits that plant doubts about gender identity and image, which can then lead to inner reflection. {{Laurence Rasti}} is a Swiss photographer of Iranian origin. This shared cultural identity has led her to explore the confrontation between sexual identity and male-female antagonism, while also looking at LGBT rights in the West and the death sentence for homosexuals in Iran. 'There are no homosexuals in Iran' presents a portrait of refugees transiting through the Turkish city of Denzill, who uncertainly await promised asylum. {{Novella De Giorgi}} studied linguistics at Bologna. For her, photography tries to 'translate the dialogue between chaotic reality and its subjective perception into a visual language'. 'You're born naked, the rest is drag' is a series of self-portraits that explores the interactions between sexual identity and gender stereotypes by (de)constructing male-female binaries.
