Pink Screens needs you!

Every year since 2001, Genres d'à Côté is organising Pink Screens, THE queer cinema event of Brussels. Never-seen-before films, fiction and documentaries tend to tear down sexual and gender boundaries, offering an alternative view on « hetero-normality » society, as well as questioning gender designation. A growing audience is attending 10 days of screenings, exhibition, party and public debate at Cinema Nova. The members of Genres d'à Côté are all working on a voluntary basis. Organising such an event is time and energy consuming, though exciting : programming, communication, logistic, translation & subtitling, technical aspects, fund raising etc, are all essential to succeed and make the festival visible. This year, we would particularly need a web-fan to update our site (information, event, programme of the festival, newsletter etc...), as well as a motivated communicator to the press and partners, as well as fund raiser (to both public and private sponsors). Committing to the festival also gives you the opportunity to join Genres d'à Côté team all year round, suggest projects and take a part to the collective management of the structure. But you can also join on a more targeted occasion during the festival itself, as there is a lot of work such as tending the bar and ushering.
